Pope Francis Says Jesus Failed at the Cross, Again! This Time Even More Boldly, and With No Nebulous Descriptor, ‘Humanly Speaking’

Back in September when the Pope made his first ever visit to the United States, he presented a homily at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, where he told billions of viewers and thousands present that Jesus failed at the cross, stating, “The cross was a failure, humanly speaking.” Here is an excerpt of the quote:

“We can get caught up measuring the value of our apostolic works by the standards of efficiency, good management and outward success which govern the business world. Not that these things are unimportant! We have been entrusted with a great responsibility, and God’s people rightly expect accountability from us. But the true worth of our apostolate is measured by the value it has in God’s eyes. To see and evaluate things from God’s perspective calls for constant conversion in the first days and years of our vocation and, need I say, great humility. The cross shows us a different way of measuring success. Ours is to plant the seeds: God sees to the fruits of our labors. And if at times our efforts and works seem to fail and produce no fruit, we need to remember that we are followers of Jesus… and his life, humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross.”

Then there was the debate, followed by shock and outrage, and others defending him. What did he mean, no he didn’t mean that, wait,  DID HE REALLY SAY THAT? YES!

Needless to say, many offered excuses for the pontiff of satan, and the story went viral, headlines splashed across main stream media and alternative media. The excuses offered up varied, “he meant that the crucifixion was a failure from a worldly perspective.”

He is Coming -Are You Ready Ministries stood by the fact, that no matter what light or context you painted the Pope’s statement in, THE CROSS WAS NOT A FAILURE, and the Pope did in fact imply that Jesus failed at the cross.  I have never heard a blood bought, spirit wrought Christian say, much less imply. that Jesus failed at the cross.  No, a born again Christian will tell you, THE CROSS WAS A VICTORY!

22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. -Acts 2:22-27 (KJV).

Catholic Answers responded to the concerns of many, calling concerned people “outrage mongers” and claiming that “humanly speaking” meant according to “worldly standards.” In an ironic twist of fate, James White whole-heartedly agreed with the position of Catholic Answers and others, dedicating an entire program of the Dividing Line defending the Pope.

God teaches us not to double speak or handle scripture deceptively, and in this light, He is Coming viewed the transcripts, and mind you, there was no accompanying explanation from the Pope about what he meant by failure. So, we took the position that under the scrutiny of all the false Catholic doctrine, combined with mounting heresy of the Pontiff himself, that he meant exactly what he said, as the false prophet of the apostate Catholic Church. You can read the full account, The Debate: Did Pope Francis Say, “Jesus Failed at the Cross” ?, and the full transcript is also included.

And now, Pulpit and Pen reports, the Pope has said it again – “this time even more explicitly and with no nebulous descriptor, ‘humanly speaking.’ “

The Catholic News Agency posted a transcript of the Pope’s words to youth in Kenya at the end of last month. The Pope’s visit in Kenya lasted from November 25-27, his talk consisted of encouraging them to avoid being recruited into terrorism, to avoid personal and political corruption and to avoid the “unbridled consumption” of more developed countries in the West [insert the word Marxist in the sound of cough].

And then, came this…

When you don’t understand something, when desperation hits you then look at the cross. That is the great failure of God, that is the destruction of God, and it’s a challenge to our faith. And this is hope, because history did not end in that failure. Rather it’s in the resurrection of Christ that renewed all of us.

I am going to tell you something personal. It’s 12 (o’clock) are you hungry?

I am going to tell you something private. In my pocket I always carry two thing: a rosary to pray something which seems odd, this is here is the history of God’s failure, it’s the way of the cross, a small way of the cross, as Jesus suffered and when they condemned him right up to where he was buried with these two things I do the best I can. And thanks to these two things, I never lose hope.

The cross, according to the Pope, is “the great failure of God.” The way of the cross is “the history of God’s failure,” according to the Pope.

Now, those hell-bent on defending the Pope (which basically consists of Roman Catholics and those who have a beef with polemicists) will probably say, “Ah, but yes. The Pope says, ‘history did not end with that failure.’ Therefore, the Pope is not calling the cross a failure.” To which, I would say, that is not following the syntax and sentence structure used by the Pope and is twisting his words in the name of not twisting his words. Clearly, the Pope said that the cross is a failure. It is merely a failure, the Pope argues, that is made right by the resurrection. The cross was a failure that needed to be overcome by the resurrection. As with last time, there’s no language that indicates hypothetical usage, such as “some people think…” The cross was, in a matter of fact way according to the Pope, a failure.

My friends, the cross was not a failure. The propitiatory death of Christ was not a failure. The atonement was not a failure. Jesus’ passion was not a failure. Jesus’ condemnation  on our account was not a failure. All things made possible by the cross, chiefly the payment of our sins, was not a failure. The cross – in and of itself – was a smashing success. That Christ, in his humanity, would have been worthy as a perfect sacrifice even to be put upon the cross was an epic accomplishment. Speaking as a Protestant who is still protesting, the cross is in no way, shape, form or fashion a “failure.”

The Pope, for whatever reason (I think it’s because what’s laid out in the London Baptist Confession, chapter 26, article 4 is true), continues to use the language of the failure of the cross. Do you know any Protestant who would speak this way? Do you know anyone who believes in salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone who would speak repeatedly this way? The Pope’s words are doctrine-driven. In the same breath the Pope calls the cross a failure, he mentions clinging to the idols in his pocket. This is the nature of Christianity when the cross becomes a failure; it becomes insufficient.

Deception is emerging at warp speed, and the Catholic Church and their pontiff are in grave peril before the almighty GOD!   They have changed the meaning of the Cross, defiled salvation by grace, encouraged Mary worship, idol worship, and are full of false teachings. It is time that people pick up their cross and FOLLOW JESUS, and READ THE WORD of God!  It is time for people to “come out of her!”

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.-  Revelation 18:4 (KJV).

Prophecy:

The bible warns us of FOLLOWING false teachers and chasing after traditions of Man

Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.-Acts 20:30 (KJV).

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils – 1 Timothy 4:1 (KJV).

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ- Colossians 2:8 (KJV).

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction – 2 Peter 2:1 (KJV).

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.– 2 Timothy 4:3-5 (KJV).

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect -Matthew 24:24 (KJV).

And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. – Matthew 24:11(KJV).

These are matters which have, to be sure, the appearance of wisdom in self-made religion and self-abasement and severe treatment of the body, but are of no value against fleshly indulgence- Colossians 2:23 (KJV).

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.- 1 John 2:18 (KJV).

Catholics often say they do not WORSHIP MARY, the VENERATE her…they both mean the same thing, and it is a sin! JESUS is who we pray to!

  3. We do NOT worship any but GOD. We do NOT pray to statues, (Mary DID command us to say the rosary daily when She visited at FATIMA ) but prayer is NOT worship. Prayer is CONVERSATION. When directed to God it combines WITH worship. There is NO worship when praying to a deceased relative. You are requesting their assistance.
