The Satanic Temple Invites Public To “Meet Your Local Satanists” For Launch of “After School Satan” Program at WA Elementary School

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils – 1 Timothy 4:1 (KJV).

The Satanic Temple of Seattle (TST) has officially announced its proposal for an “After School Satan Club pilot program” in the Point Defiance Elementary School located in Tacoma, Washington. The public information meeting about the satanic club is scheduled for Sunday, November 13.

The announcement via their website, welcomes all parents to meet the local satanists who want to “teach” your kids “worldly values.”

“Come by, meet your local Satanists, and learn more about what we do and how to get involved!” invites the Satanists. “All are welcome. Cookies and soda provided.

The following message appeared on their website:

“We’ve contacted the Tacoma Public Schools District via email and letter announcing our intentions to start an After School Satan Club at Point Defiance Elementary, and have requested their Facility Use application so we may follow the correct procedures in applying,” says the Satanic Temple’s website.

“We look forward to providing a fun, educational option for Point Defiance students to learn about science, rationalism, and critical thinking.”

The Satanic Temple “After School Satan” program first made headlines in late July of this year when they announced plans to launch the “After School Satan” program in  Atlanta, GA; Los Angeles, CA; Pensacola, FL; Portland, OR; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA; Springfield, MO; Tucson, AZ; and Washington, DC.  Reportedly, the Satanic Temple has already contacted the nine public school districts, seeking applications.

According to the Guardian, Several  other districts said they were reviewing the group’s request and noted their facilities were available to community groups.

The Satanic Temple has admitted to specifically targeting the schools that offer Christian after school programs.

DailyMail Reports, “The temple says it is only interested in operating in schools that have Good News Clubs in existence but hopes to eventually be in more schools.”

According to The Washington Post, The Good News Clubs, which teaches Evangelical Christian gospel and Bible scripture, currently operates in 3,560 elementary schools across the nation.

Mat Staver, founder of a Christian legal aid group that represented the Child Evangelism Fellowship and helped win a victory in the 2001 Supreme Court decision Good News Bible Club v. Milford Central School District allowing the Good News Club to continue operating in schools, said:

“The so-called Satanic Temple group is a handful of atheists masquerading as so-called Satanists. This group is not legitimate. Its only reason to exist is to oppose the Good News Clubs. The Good News Clubs teach morals, character development, patriotism and respect from a Christian viewpoint.”

The temple’s co-founder Doug Mesner, who goes by the name of Lucien Greaves has described Satanism as an atheist philosophy himself, adding that their believers “feel it provides everything a religion provides to be legitimized as such”.

The goal of the “After School Satan” program is to make Christian organizations leave public forums.

‘If Good News Clubs would operate in churches rather than public schools, that need would disappear. But our point is that if you let one religion into the public schools you have to let others, otherwise it’s an establishment of religion.’ Greaves stated.

The Satanic Temple responding to the stay of the Good News Program and their victory, stating: “if the Good News Clubs, is allowed in schools then we should be too!”  Hence the reason the group decided to launch their “After School Satan program.”

“We think that when kids are being exposed to the idea that they will burn in hell and other supernatural ideas, that there is a positive upshot to being exposed to the presence of a satanic afterschool program,” said Greaves.

The Satanic Temple, which has 20 chapters spreading their filth across the US, says the Good News program is indoctrinating children into evangelicalism.

Greaves says: ‘It’s critical that children understand that there are multiple perspectives on all issues, and that they have a choice in how they think.’

Parents are not being forced to participate, and legal authorizations to enroll children are required, and the same rules apply to the Christian organization.

Demon-themed brochures complete with pentagrams will be distributed to parents and children detailing their program, and information about “After School Satan” is also available on their website.

In the FAQ section of its website, the Satanic Temple says, “All After School Satan Clubs are based upon a uniform syllabus that emphasizes a scientific, rationalist, non-superstitious world view.”

Part of their promotional material includes an introductory video that “rivals The Blair Witch Project in creepiness.”

The Satanic Temple insists they are not about worshipping Satan and state they themselves do not believe in Satan (leaves one wondering why they have the name “SATANIC TEMPLE” and After School Satan). The group instead states that they are specifically targeting the infiltration of Christian values, and desire to undermine religious “indoctrination.” Moreover, the group states that they want to dispel the myth of sin, hell and punishment, which according to the Satanic Temple’s belief is an “aversion to critical thinking,” and instead focus on promoting worldviews.

While the twisted Evangelical teachings of The Good News Clubs “robs children of the innocence and enjoyment of childhood, replacing them with a negative self image, preoccupation with sin, fear of Hell, and aversion to critical thinking,” After School Satan Clubs incorporate games, projects, and thinking exercises that help children understand how we know what we know about our world and our universe.

The group seems confident that schools will allow them to operate, posting the following notice on their website:

‘As it is illegal for the schools to discriminate against specific religions or preference others, cannot be denied wherever Christian, or any other religious clubs, operate,’ reads a message on their website.

Greaves himself has threatened legal action if the Satanic Temple “After School Satan program” is denied requests to operate in school districts.

‘The Satanic Temple does not advocate for religion in schools. However, once religion invades schools, as The Good News Clubs have, The Satanic Temple will fight to ensure that plurality and true religious liberty are respected,’ the group says. ‘We prefer to give children an appreciation of the natural wonders surrounding them, not a fear of everlasting other-worldly horrors.’

Clearly their video  PROMOTES THAT!

Not Much Schools Can Do to Stop the Program

In Utah, the Granite school district said that if the group meets set requirements, including paying rent, there will be nothing the district can do to stop it. District spokesman Ben Horsley said the group would not be able to put up fliers in schools or talk to students during school hours, the same arrangement given to the Good News Club.

Springfield public schools in Missouri also said it was reviewing the group’s request. It noted that granting requests to use the district’s taxpayer-funded facilities “does not constitute the district’s endorsement”. The school district in Prince George’s County, Maryland, described a similar policy and noted parental permission was required for after-school activities.

As reports, the Satanists had originally planned to start their club at Centennial Elementary School in the Mount Vernon School District, but discovered the club would have to meet several hours after the end of the school day due to other activities sponsored by the school district.

“We have our own school activities and that includes our own after-school program,” said Centennial Elementary School Principal Erwin Stroosma. “When that kind of stuff is going on, we don’t allow other organizations to rent the facility.”

“I don’t mind that we made a switch,” said Lilith Starr, who heads the TST chapter. “[The national organization wants] us to go somewhere where we can try to get in as soon as possible.”

The Satanic Temple’s website states Satan Clubs are “operated by local chapters of The Satanic Temple by volunteer members who have been vetted by the Executive Ministry for professionalism, social responsibility, superior communication skills, and lack of criminal history.”

This isn’t the first time the group has sought to undermine Christian values. The Satanic temple has also protested Christian monuments on public grounds, and in response planned to place an eight-an-half-foot bronze statue of Satan next to the The Ten Commandments Monument at the Oklahoma Capitol. The Supreme court eventually ruled that the Ten Commandment statue had to be removed. The same initiative has been sought in Arkansas, where a Ten Commandments monument has been proposed.

The Satanic Temple has also been responsible for distributing satanic coloring books to children in elementary schools retaliating against students being allowed to bring bibles and clergy distributing “Christian materials.”  In another instance, the Satanic Temple made plans to host a satanic invocation at Bremerton H.S, where Coach Joe Kennedy was praying on the  50-yard line with students. The coach was suspended and ordered to stop praying, and the notice of invocation was withdrawn.

It seems that their goal to eradicate religion and stifle its existence to “CHURCHES ONLY,” has paid off in some cases. Schools are forced to these decisions. I pray for the continued success of the GOSPEL to spread throughout the world as we were instructed by Jesus Christ. This is just more proof that we have to stand strong, as we are truly living in perilous times, more evidence of prophecy!

Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. – 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV).
