National Geographic Cover Features The Virgin Mary, Deems Her ‘The Most Important Woman In the World,’ The Story? Shocking!

The National Geographic’s December 2015 cover story features The Virgin Mary, who they have deemed “the most important woman in the world,” and  “the most important historical figure in the bible.”

The article underpins the long history of “Mary Worship.” The prominent and idolatrous practice of the Roman Catholic Church.

While Mary was the mother of Jesus, the reverence bestowed upon her by the Catholic Church and its followers is apostasy.  Mary was a sinner, just like the rest of us. Something the Catholic Church denies.

For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.-Ecclesiastes 7:20 (KJV).

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; -Romans 3:23 (KJV).

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: -Romans 3:10 (KJV).

The entire article devotes itself to explaining “goddess worship,” under a false veneer of reverence and devotion. The worshipping of a human is something that is absolutely forbidden in the bible. But that has never stopped the apostate Catholic Church, nor its members from the practice.  What is shocking, is the detailed timeline of Marian devotion, and how many people are involved in the practice.  The writer also makes a point to stress the virgin Mary’s importance to cultures. The culture and the Christians they are referring to are Catholics.

What’s even more sinister, is the account of several Catholics who claim to have seen ” Mary’s ghost,” others profess to have been healed by the power of praying to Mary. Some even spoke of seeing spinning suns and other signs when praying to Mary.  Perhaps it is because they were praying to satan unknowingly.  If you are not praying to God, then the option of who else it could be is more than obvious.  In its entirety, the article is an open display of rebellion against God, perpetuated by the Roman Catholic Church. Then there was the regard to visionaries (fortune tellers). The entire read was a complete demonic accounting being passed off as religious veneration,

Gripping his head with one hand, she appealed to the Virgin Mary to ask God to cure him. Boyle said he experienced an unusual sensation right there in the store. “She starts to pray over me. Rob and Kevin put their hands on me, and the heat that went through my body from her praying was causing them to sweat.”

Back in Boston a week later, a CT scan at Massachusetts General Hospital revealed that his tumors had shrunk to almost nothing.

For the Vatican to be involved in apparitions, is definitely yet another indicator of their apostasy. It is indeed what the bible refers to as “lying wonders and signs.”  It is also strictly forbidden for anyone to be involved with or seek counsel from with fortune tellers. Just because the Catholics relabeled  the name to “visionary” does not change the forbidden practice. Who can truthfully be in this Church and be a follower of Christ?  I cannot for the life of me imagine that a HOLY SPIRIT filled person, would not be convicted by the Lord…there is no way, it is to me, IMPOSSIBLE.

Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.- 2 Thessalonians 2:9-13 (KJV).

And I will cut off witchcrafts out of thine hand; and thou shalt have no more soothsayers:Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands.-Micah 5:12-13 (KJV).

Mary is everywhere: Marigolds are named for her. Hail Mary passes save football games. The image in Mexico of Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of the most reproduced female likenesses ever. Mary draws millions each year to shrines such as Fátima, in Portugal, and Knock, in Ireland, sustaining religious tourism estimated to be worth billions of dollars a year and providing thousands of jobs. She inspired the creation of many great works of art and architecture (Michelangelo’s “Pietà,” Notre Dame Cathedral), as well as poetry, liturgy, and music (Monteverdi’s Vespers for the Blessed Virgin). And she is the spiritual confidante of billions of people, no matter how isolated or forgotten.

Muslims as well as Christians consider her to be holy above all women, and her name “Maryam” appears more often in the Koran than “Mary” does in the Bible. (that should indicate a clue to us all) In the New Testament Mary speaks only four times, beginning with the Annunciation, when, according to Luke’s Gospel, the angel Gabriel appears to her and says she will bear “the Son of the Most High.” Mary answers, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord.” Her only extended speech, also in Luke, is the lyrical Magnificat, uttered in early pregnancy: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant. Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed.”

Mary is a magnet for young and old. On August 12, during a Mass celebrating her assumption into heaven, Roman Catholic youths guard a life-size figure in Kalwaria Pacławska, Poland. The Feast of the Assumption is a weeklong festival here. Photo Credit: National Geographic

During the first millennium, as Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire and began spreading into Europe, Mary typically was portrayed as an imperial figure, the equal of emperors, dressed in royal purple and gold. In the second millennium, beginning in the 12th century, says medieval historian Miri Rubin of Queen Mary University of London, “she underwent a dramatic shift,” evolving into a more accessible, kinder, gentler maternal figure. She served as a substitute mother in monasteries and convents, which novices often entered at a tender age. “A mother’s love,” Rubin says, “came to express the core of the religious story.”

Because so little is known of Mary from Scripture, “you can project on her whatever cultural values you have,” says Amy-Jill Levine, a professor of New Testament and Jewish studies at Vanderbilt University. “A cultural confection,” according to Rubin. Levine adds, “She can be the grieving mother, the young virgin, the goddess figure. Just as Jesus is the ideal man, Mary is the ideal woman.”

That was their own words…’goddess”

During the Reformation (1517-1648), the idea of Mary as intercessor fell out of favor with Protestants, who advocated going straight to God in prayer. But Mary gained millions of new Catholic followers with the Spanish conquest in the New World in the early 1500s—and, more recently, in Africa as Christianity has spread there.

And this teaching of going straight to GOD IS the biblical teaching!

PRAYING FOR THE VIRGIN MARY’S intercession and being devoted to her are a global phenomenon. The notion of Mary as intercessor with Jesus begins with the miracle of the wine at the wedding at Cana, when, according to the Gospel of John, she tells him, “They have no wine,” thus prompting his first miracle. It was in A.D. 431, at the Third Ecumenical Council, in Ephesus, that she was officially named Theotokos, Bearer of God. Since then no other woman has been as exalted as Mary. As a universal symbol of maternal love, as well as of suffering and sacrifice, Mary is often the touchstone of our longing for meaning, a more accessible link to the supernatural than formal church teachings. Her mantle offers both security and protection. Pope Francis, when once asked what Mary meant to him, answered, “She is my mamá.”

Her reported appearances, visions experienced often by very poor children living in remote or conflict-wracked areas, have intensified her mystery and aura. And when the children can’t be shaken from their stories—especially if the accounts are accompanied by inexplicable “signs” such as spinning suns or gushing springs—her wonder grows.

According to his website:
“Throughout the ages, there have been innumerable reports of miracles including the appearances of Jesus, the Blessed Virgin Mary, saints and angels. These apparitions have come in many forms and have been witnessed by a wide variety of people: men and women, children and adults, Christian saints and atheists. People from all corners of the globe have made claims to have experienced the occurrence of miracles. Tour our site to learn how these miracles have influenced human history.”
Michael O’Neill is the Virgin Mary’s big data numbers cruncher. On,he has codified every known apparition of Mary back to A.D. 40.

O’Neill, in his newly published book, Exploring the Miraculous, details the Vatican’s painstaking process when deciding whether to endorse an apparition as miraculous—“truly extraordinary.” The “authenticity” and mental stability of the seer are prime, and anyone suspected of trying to gain fame or riches from contact with the Virgin Mary is ignored or condemned.

Medjugorje is one of some two dozen sites in wait-and-see mode for Vatican approval. The local bishops with authority over Medjugorje have never given credence to the apparitions and have been at odds with the Franciscan priests who run the parish and are staunch believers. To resolve the impasse, a Vatican commission was appointed. It concluded its work in 2014.

In this video “5 THINGS TO KNOW MARIAN APPARITIONS “Researcher Michael O’Neill relays some fascinating facts about Virgin Mary apparitions”

For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd. -Zechariah 10:2 (KJV).

The Vatican would never approve an alleged apparition whose message contradicted church teachings, and the faithful aren’t required to believe in apparitions. Many, including priests, do not. “What is from Mary versus what is captured and interpreted by the seer is hard to distinguish,” says Father Johann Roten, director of research and special projects at the University of Dayton’s Marian Library, with more than a hundred thousand volumes on Mary. Ultimately the decision is based on faith.

The false teachings of the Catholic church –babylonia–is not only based on the doctrines of devils, it is persistent in its methodology of idol worship, pagan rituals and satanic symbolism and occultism practices. The danger is that is inducting its unknowing followers into rebellion against God. What’s worse is that the teachings are underpinned by the spirit of the antichrist, boasting that “Mary can save sinners.” Heresy! This doctrine should be accursed. Unfortunately, many continue to hold hands with the devil and defend the practices of the Roman Catholic apostate Church, rather than seeking the Word of God and biblical truths.

Bowing and praying before a before a graven image, and giving credence to someone other than our Lord, Jesus Christ is idolatry.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; -Exodus 20:4-5 (KJV).

The lack of reliance on the word of God and the focus on the obligation of the Roman doctrine has long been a barrier to both salvation and the actual teachings of Jesus Christ. It is a salvation issue when an apostate church teaches that anyone other than JESUS CHRIST can save!

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me -John 14:6 (KJV).

Heresy are doctrines and practices which are contrary to the Bible. They are also called “human traditions” or “doctrines of men.” Both Peter and Paul predicted and warned that in the later times “false teachers” would rise within the church and bring in “damnable heresies” and “doctrines of devils” (see 2nd Peter 2:1-3, and 1st Timothy 3:2-5). Jesus rebuked the Pharisees, for they transgressed the commandments of God by keeping such traditions. “in vain,” He said, “they worship me by keeping for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matthew 15:3,9).

It is grievous to even think that a mortal sinful wo/man would be elevated above Jesus, our Risen King and Savior, who died upon the cross and the only intercessor between man and God (1 Peter 2:24 KJV). However, the Catholic doctrine of devils has not only leveled Jesus with Mary, but elevates the Catholic teachings above those that Jesus gave.

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ -Galatians 1:10 (KJV).

Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind…-Colossians 2:18 (KJV).

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; -1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV).

Not only is the Catholic Church in full “falling away” and apostate mode, they are leading their followers to H-E-L-L. Shame on anyone who perpetuates this heresy. Certainly it must be understood we are never to worship anyone other than Jesus. It should also be noted that this false commencement to hail ‘Mother Mary’ is just another example of idolatry. The notion that Mary is greater than any other human on earth, is the workings of the antichrist to fool its followers to worship someone other than Jesus. The idea that you can pray to Mary is robbing the divine comforter given to us by Jesus, the Holy Spirit. We are not to pray to anyone other than our Savior! The practice should be rebuked and accursed.

Anyone who picks up their bible and reads it, will clearly know that this celebration is not only wrong, but Jesus clearly instructed otherwise, stating that the traditions of men and idolatry, are sin. A friend recently told me, “If people actually picked up their bibles we would have the biggest dust storm in history.” That is the sad truth.

Here is what Jesus says in Mark 7:6-8:

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

The biggest lie that the Catholic church teaches is the belief that Mary can save “them” and in order to be saved, they must first receive forgiveness from a priest, Mary, some sort of sacrament, or a saint. Jesus is the only one who saves! And the only one who can forgive and pardon your sins before God. PERIOD!

In the Confessional, the Catholic confesses sins to a priest who then absolves the person and prescribes penance–a necessary means of forgiveness (CCC 980) “by which sins committed after baptism are forgiven,” (The New Saint Joseph Baltimore Catechism, Vol. 1, 1969, p. 141). Sacraments are a means of grace (needed to resist and be forgiven of sins). Catholics can pray to the saints, and especially Mary, to ask for their intercession. In fact, it is Mary who “will deliver our souls from death” (CCC 966), brings gifts of eternal salvation (CCC 969), and is second only to Jesus (Vatican Council II, p. 421).

1. False Teaching – Mary has authority in heaven or is the Queen of heaven- and she is sinless

The notion and teaching that Mary is the queen of heaven is heresy. These declarations come from Popes and Priests of the apostate Roman Catholic Church. There is nothing biblically to support such an outlandish statement.

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. -Jeremiah 7:18 (KJV).

This title referred to Ishtar, an Assyrian and Babylonian goddess known as Ashtoreth.. Many thought of her as the wife of the false god Baal, (or Molech).  Women worshipped Ashtoreth because she was known as the fertility goddess, and because bearing children was of great importance during this time, the worship of the “queen of heaven” was a rampant practice among pagans, and sadly was adopted by the Israelites as well.  There is not much difference in what the Catholic’s are teaching and doing, see the connection?

The second instance of “queen of heaven” is found in Jeremiah 44:17-25.

17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the Lord remember them, and came it not into his mind?22 So that the Lord could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.23 Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against theLord, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.

24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the Lord, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:

25 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.

So, as we can see from these two verses, there is no biblical “queen of heaven”  and the verses referring to a queen of heaven depict those who are worshipping a goddess of an idolatrous, false religion. Moreover, God was not happy then, and he most assuredly is not happy about the practice continuing in the form of “Mary worship today.  It carries the penalty of death to the everlasting lake of fire.

While Mary was the mother of Jesus, chosen to bear our savior, this did not in any way elevate her to a status of a co-redeemer, much less to the level of a deity, like the Roman Catholic Church has done.  Jesus himself rebuked the practice when he was on earth. Just as we should rebuke this false teaching today, and harshly may I add! Mary herself recognized that she was not divine, and was a sinner in need of a savior, too. She tells us that herself “46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” (See Luke 1:46–55).

A young boy in the Deir al Adra monastery reaches up to touch a painted image of Mary. In the Koran, Maryam (Mary) is the holiest woman mentioned. “So the Virgin Mary is not at all strange to Muslims,” says Roten. “In fact, wherever there is a connection between Christians and Muslims—or any two groups that know and love her—there is a common value in the covenant mother.” Photo Credit and Caption by National Geographic

We also see where Jesus rebuked a woman who cried out to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked” (Luke 11:27).  I totally believe this verse is here, because of this very situation we see today with Mary worship. Jesus then replied to her:  “Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” (Luke 11:28).

This verse alone tells us that JESUS objects to elevating Mary to more than a blessed human need a savior. This by the words of our own savior  means that we are to honor GOD ALONE!

The point is driven home in other stories from the bible, too. We are given countless examples where followers, TRUE FOLLOWERS of JESUS CHRIST, refused to be worshipped (Acts 10:25–26; 14:13–14). Even the holy angels refused to be worshipped (Revelation 19:10; 22:9). Over and over we see the same response:“Worship God!” In all of these verses, we can collectively see, given directly to us from God through the inspired prophets, that worshipping anyone but GOD IS WRONG, is idolatry, and is forbidden.  So why then, does the Catholic Church reject this teaching?

Scriptural Fact: There has never been, nor will there ever be a queen in heaven.  There is however, a KING of Heaven, and he is the Lord of hosts, our savior Jesus Christ.  And all of mankind, including Mary is in need of a savior, because are sinners.

  • Jesus is the Authority is the Ruler and King of Heaven see Matthew 28:18-20,Ephesians 1:20, Daniel 7:14
  • All men are sinners Romans 5:12, Romans 3:23

2. False Teaching : Pray to a Saint or Mary, Seek Forgiveness from a priest

Catholics deny they partake in “Mary Worship.” Instead, they use the term, “venerate” (meaning they regard in respect and reverence). Another lie and cover-up.  Catholics openly pray to Mary and other saints. We are told, that we are to pray to God and God alone. The practice of praying to Mary or any other saint is not biblical, and FORBIDDEN in the bible. FORBIDDEN.   Prayer is in fact an act of worship.  Saints are not deities nor should they be elevated to such a level, that one petitions them in prayer.

The other issue is that priests, who literally think they are replacements of Christ, and literally that translates to “anti-christ” believe in an appalling notion that they can forgive sins. They also teach that Mary is a co-redeemer, and by praying to Mary one could be granted forgiveness. All lies and none of these practices are biblical.  All of them erroneously usurps the power of the Holy Spirit.

While it is a customary practice for Catholics to worship and pray to saints, the Bible is abundantly clear about whom we should worship and pray to. Jesus Christ, our Savior. When we look at scripture, there is no mistaken this fact.

Scriptural Fact – We pray only to Jesus and only he can pardon our sins.

  • Intercessor / Mediator is Jesus Christ see: 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25, 1 John 2:1-2, John 14:16-17.
Priests do not have the authority to “forgive or pardon” sins- only Jesus can pardon our sins see Matthew 9:6, Colossians 1:13-14, 1 John 1:1

3. False Teaching: Worshiping Idols -Saints or Mary

Another way Catholics “venerate” Mary and the saints is by praying to graven images and statues of them. Many Catholics use images of Mary and other saints, and claim they bring “good luck.” The Bible clearly reveals that this practice is blatant idolatry (Exodus 20:4–6; 1 Corinthians 12:1–2; 1 John 5:21). Whether its rubbing rosary beads, lighting candles before a graven image of a saint, or burying a statue of Joseph with false hopes that this will aid in the sale of their home, all of this constitutes idolatry.

Anna Pidlisna, 32, of Ukraine, says she came to Medjugorje—where plaster statues can fetch about 30 euros apiece—after receiving a vision of Mary. Apparitions aren’t the only Marian sign; many say they’ve seen a “spinning sun.” Physicist Artur Wirowski has an earthly explanation: It can occur when sunlight reflects and refracts charged ice crystals vibrating in sync within the clouds. Scriptural Fact – We worship only Jesus

  • Please see: Exodus 34:14, Exodus 20:4-5, Matthew 4:10, Revelation 22:8-9.
While there are many other damnable practices in the Catholic Church, (bowing before a priest in order to take communion, the “kissing of the Rosary,” the deplorable practice of thinking that priests are in “place” of Jesus on earth and placing them in confessional booths, etc) It should be known that this is clearly the teachings of the ANTI-CHRIST!

The Word of God commands us to get out of Babylon, saying: “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues”-Revelation 18:4 (KJV).

Followers of Christ, not man or their damnable heresies will remain faithful to the word of God as taught in the bible. Please heed the warning of the Apostle Paul, who said:

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed” -Galatians 1:8 (KJV).

I think its time people, “to come out of her” don’t you?

Yours in the Faithful Service of Jesus Christ,

-Lisa Muhar
