Our Mother, who Art in Heaven? Meet the WOE MAN Priest Who Thinks It’s Time to Call God ‘She’

Anglican priest the Rev Emma Percy thinks that calling God “he” or “him” is sexist and makes women feel “less holy”. The chaplain is part of Watch (Women and the Church), which campaigns for gender equality.

The group wants to challenge the use of exclusively male language and imagery to describe God in the Lord’s Prayer, hymns, art and the language of church services.

After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.11) Give us this day our daily bread.12) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors- Matthew 6:9-12 (KJV).

The Rev Emma Percy, chaplain of Trinity College, Oxford, and a member of Watch (Women and the Church), the pressure group that helped to win the argument within the Church of England for female bishops, said:

“When we use only male language for God we reinforce the idea that God is like a man and, in doing so, suggest that men are more like God than women. If we take the idea that men and women are made in the image of God, both male and female language should be used.”

Watch chairman Hilary Cotton says the issue has been discussed within the Church and that they are working towards a more “feminised liturgy”.

She said: “We are at a preliminary stage in terms of shifting the language of worship.” Precisely what changes can be made “is a really difficult question with which we will wrestle for years to come”, she said. The Rev Kate Bottley, who features on Channel 4’s Gogglebox, said that she and other vicars have been dropping “he” and “him” in sermons.

The Church of England says that if vicars are serious about starting to call God a woman, however, they need to submit proposals outlining their case to be signed off by the General Synod.

A spokesman for the Church said: “Any change in the formal liturgy of the Church of England would require consent, revision and final approval of the General Synod. 

“Even prior to that point, there would need to be substantial consultation with the Liturgical Commission.”

Ms Cotton said the concept of God being male stemmed from the Church’s early history in Rome.

“This has arisen now in part because of the change in gender culture but actually it has emerged at all sorts of points in Christian history.”

The Church of England took on its first ever woman bishop when Libby Lane was consecrated Bishop of Stockport earlier this year.

The heresy of this article is twofold. One, WOMEN preachers are not permitted in the bible, and two, JESUS was a man. Throughout the bible God is referred to as our Heavenly Father. GOD is JESUS, therefore, GOD IS our FATHER, not our MOTHER.

Additionally, God ordained men as the spiritual leaders of the church and household, and assigned specific roles to men and women. This woman’s movement is a rebellion against God, his ordained roles, and is in fact a jezebel spirit.
