Millions of people around the globe, gazed their eyes up high into the heavens, to catch a glimpse of the ‘blood moon.’ Our Heavenly Father has created such beauty, such wonderous things, who could even imagine the power of his handiwork! The divine signs in the skies, revealing the presence of our Risen King and Savior!
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years..-Genesis 1:14 (KJV).
Early Saturday morning, the moon glided into the Earth’s shadow for a brief five minutes. This was the shortest lunar eclipse of the century.
As the sun, earth and moon aligned, sunlight passed through the planet’s atmosphere and slowly darkened the moon, and then a radiant burnt-orange hue gleamed before our eyes.
Hundreds of spellbound skygazers took to Twitter to post photographs of the celestial spectacle.
The event was best observed from the west coast of North America, Australia, and New Zealand as well as eastern Asia.
Parts of South America, India and China were also able to catch at least part of the eclipse. However, it was not at all visible from Europe, the Middle East or Africa.
Saturday’s total eclipse was unusually short because the moon passed through the upper part of the Earth’s shadow; longer eclipses occur when the moon passes through the shadow’s center. This was the first total lunar eclipse of the year, and third in a series of four in a row, known as tetrad.
Some skygazers complained that clouds prevented them from seeing any of the 3 1/2-hour lunar show.

Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope:Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. – Acts 2:22-27 (KJV).
