The Letters to the Editor section always features the kookiest characters in the newspaper. But the Lexington Dispatch took one reader’s letter a little too far. The paper then had to issue one of the nuttiest corrections of the year thus far:
“Boyd Thomas’ letter Saturday contained an error in the headline. He does not believe President Obama is the Antichrist, who will come after the seven kings, according to Revelation. He thinks Obama could be the seventh king.”
Religious scholars out there know that the eighth king would be the Antichrist. But that’s assuredly not Obama, according to one faithful Lexington Dispatch reader.
And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast- Revelation 17:11-13 (KJV).

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world -1 John 4:3 (KJV).
Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time – 1 John 2:18 (KJV).
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect – Matthew 24:24 (KJV).
